Whether you’re an emergency responder, a caregiver or someone who wants to learn how to save a life, Cuyuna Regional Medical Center is here to help with a host of community education classes. Options include online, in-person and simulation learning that is combined with hands-on, in-person instruction.

Prepare for the unexpected with training from CRMC’s healthcare providers. Developed and taught by experts, our convenient, affordable courses can help you provide care when it’s needed most. With American Heart Association (AHA) course work, we offer quality training with the latest information that’s designed to suit your schedule and your learning style. Our instructors are health care professionals who have various clinical experiences and diverse backgrounds to add realistic and real-world knowledge to training. Instructors utilize current evidence-based guidelines, equipment, and materials.

Cuyuna Regional Medical Center is an American Heart Association Training Center. The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.

Heartsaver First Aid
Designed to meet OSHA regulations, Heartsaver First Aid covers first aid basics, consisting of the most common life-threatening emergencies, how to recognize them, how to call for help, and how to perform lifesaving skills.

Heartsaver CPR/AED
Heartsaver CPR AED trains anyone with little or no medical training to provide CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner.

Heartsaver First Aid/CPR combined
Heartsaver First Aid CPR/AED provides students the highest quality training in the lifesaving skills of first aid, CPR, and use of an AED. This course empowers students to act with confidence in the event of an emergency at work, home, or in the community.

Basic Life Support
Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare professionals trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality CPR, deliver appropriate ventilations, and provide early use of an AED

Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is an advanced course that builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR, and high-performance team dynamics.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) uses a series of videos and simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics.

HeartCode Blended Learning (Skills Test Out)
AHA offers online training of the above courses which require completion of an instructor-led skills out test.

STOP THE BLEED
A bleeding injury can happen in serious accidents or disasters. Our instructors will train you on how to recognize and react to a life-threatening bleeding injury utilizing three different techniques.

Special Personalized Classes

Train your employees with the knowledge and skills they need for effective leadership in the event of an emergency. From First Aid and CPR training to EMS certification, CRMC has the emergency health, safety training and certification options available to suit your employee’s needs. Our trained solution specialists can custom tailor a program specifically around your organization. Emergency Medical Services Quarterly Education

Free, interactive education focused on continued growth and knowledge in emergency medicine.

Intended Audience: All Area first responders, EMTs, paramedics, fire departments, police departments

Schedule: Third Thursday

To date, more than 85% of CRMC EMT students have passed the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians exam on the first attempt. That compares with a 68% national average first pass rate.
